SOUTH EAST COUNTIES WOMENS FOOTBALL LEAGUE - PREMIER DIV

Anchorians 2 Haywards Heath Town LFC 0 - 2nd Oct 2005

Another long drive and regretfully another poor first half display let Heath down in this premier division game. The game as a spectacle was spoilt by some obscure refereeing which resulted in no less than six players being booked in what was a competitive but relatively clean game. Heath started reasonably well and had their fair share of possession until Anchorians scored two rather poor goals from Heath’s point of view. After half time, Heath improved considerably and had most of the possession without creating too many opportunities. Heath’s efforts and general performance in the second half was epitomised by Jenny Greenfield (Heath’s player of the match) and Mel Bramley who never allowed their heads to drop and pressurised the Anchorians defence continually. There was a very pleasing and determined performance from Michelle Winnard in her first start to a league game.
Team: Vicki Lank; Lou Stevens; Michelle Winnard; Penny Gittins; Karen Bridgewater; Kim Donno(George Thomas 65); Catherine Diffey (Emma Burkitt 85); Leigh Farley; Mel Bramley; Jenny Greenfield; Del Cook.
