HEATH SCARE LEADERS

Woking Reserves 3 Haywards Heath 2 (Ella Kenny, Fran Pritlove) - 4th Feb 2007

Heath came out with all guns blazing determined to take the game to the league leaders. This attitude surprised Woking and Heath were soon on top and threatening the Woking goal. They were rewarded in the 17th minute with a fine goal from Ella Kenny, shooting over the goalkeeper into the top corner. Everyone was showing tremendous commitment and Heath went in at half time with a 1-0 lead.

Woking came out in the second half determined to equalize and did so within four minutes. Heath however continued to attack the Woking goal and were rewarded for their endeavours when Fran Pritlove shot past the keeper in the 70th minute to restore Heath's lead. Heath brought on Nat Trend when Tash Sole was injured. Mica Saunders was causing all sorts of problems and a shot was well saved by their keeper that would have given Heath a 3-1 lead. Heath continued to press and with a little good fortune and more clinical finishing could have seen Woking off. In the final ten minutes however, Woking increased the pressure and Kelly Lambert in the Heath goal made two excellent saves .With six minutes remaining and with Heath showing signs of tiring, Woking equalised. In a pulsating finish Woking took the points from a mix up in the Heath defence to leave Heath extremely disappointed with the result but very pleased with the performance against the League leaders. In a determined back four Captain Hawthorne and Heaths “Player of the match” Johnson were outstanding behind a hard working midfield whilst up front both Broome and Kenny gave Woking plenty to think about.
A great disappointment for Heath, but they know that they can take this outstanding performance into the next game at Maidstone.
