SOUTH EAST COUNTIES WOMENS FOOTBALL LEAGUE - PREMIER DIV - Feb 5th 2006
Haywards Heath Town 0 Littlehampton 7
Heath arrived at Plumpton knowing they were in for a difficult game with over half of their regulars either injured or unavailable, and several others gamely playing when still not 100% from either injuries or illness. and the situation worsened when Emma Skilton pulled a hamstring early on.
Heath were under pressure throughout most of the game from a lively Littlehampton team, and it was no surprise when the first half ended with a three goal deficit. Heath's midfielder Leigh Farley then had to go off with a nasty eye injury and it was clearly going to be difficult in the second half with so many unfamiliar players in the side.
Heath managed to keep the score down mainly due to some excellent saves from goalkeeper Nicki Whatford, Heath's player of the match, who kindly stepped in at the last minute to make rare 1st team appearance. Also making her first 1st team appearance of the season was 2nd Team Captain Julie Hawthorne whilst Alison Field made her 1st Team debut.
