Haywards Heath 1(Nat Trend) Eastbourne Borough 9- 8th Oct 2006
Heath knew it would be hard against the league leaders, Eastbourne Borough with their 100% record and they were blown away in a first half onslaught that saw them concede seven goals. Borough's young players were much quicker to the ball and it was a very deflated Heath that went off at half time.
In the second half it was a completely different story as Heath battled for their pride and were competitive in all parts of the pitch. Despite conceding another goal, Heath quickly responded with an excellent goal from Nat Trend. Borough completed the scoring with a goal near the end.
It was not the best of teams for new goalkeeper Kelly Lambert to face but she made some excellent saves. Captain Julie Hawthorne was Heath's player of the match.
