Heath knock Abbey for Six

Haywards Heath Town 6 (Lou Creasey 2,Mel Bramley, Jo Ashworth, Mica Saunders, Fran Pritlove) Abbey Rangers 0 - 11th Nov 2007

Heath came out to reverse last week's defeat at Whitehawk, and were in front within 4 minutes when Jo Ashworth received a pass from Mel Bramley and finished a fine move by rounding the keeper and slotting the ball into the empty goal. . Against a brave but under strength Abbey team from Chertsey Heath created many chances and went in at half time with a three goal lead after a stunning speculative shot from Mel Bramley went in via the post midway through the half and a long chip from player of the match, Mica Saunders left the keeper stranded after 30 mins. Heaths dominance was such that Keeper Celia Huggett didn’t touch the ball until fully ½ hour had elapsed.

The second half continued in the same vein with Heath well on top and creating chances at will. However they did not have their "shooting boots on" and chance after chance went begging after excellent approach work . Heath did manage to score three further goals with two fine shots from Lou Creasey, one following a good one-two movement with Donna Onslow, and Fran Pritlove finding the goal through the keepers legs shortly after Cath Diffey had hit the bar.

Heath were always in command and will have much stronger opposition next Sunday when they travel to unbeaten Rottingdean in the quarter final of the Sussex County FA Women’s Challenge Cup
