SOUTH EAST COUNTIES WFL LEAGUE CUP – Quarter Final -

Haywards Heath Town 1 (Natalie Bagwell) UKP 3 - March 12th 2006

Heath came into this quarter final of the League Cup, determined to put up a good display against probable League Champions UKP from Sittingbourne after last week's disappointing defeat to Hassocks. Despite falling behind to a beautiful chip from the edge of the area midway through the half, Heath more than held their own and went in at half time only 1-0 down. Heath continued their hard work in the second half and despite two further excellent goals from the UKP strikers, maintained their never say die attitude right to the end and were rewarded with a goal from Natalie Bagwell from the penalty spot. Indeed for the last ten minutes Heath were very competitive and looked as likely to score as UKP and could have got a second from substitute Fran Pritlove. Heath's efforts were epitomised by the attitude and hard work of the whole team and their support for each other. Special mention must go to player of the match Penny Gittins, Leigh Farley who never stopped running. Heath now look forward to a return to League action with a long trip to Dover next Sunday.
