South East Counties WFL Junior Trophy
Woking Reserves 3 Haywards Heath Town 1 (Mel Bramley) - 22nd April 2007
Heath made the long journey to Div 1 [W] leaders Woking for the third meeting between the Clubs in recent weeks. This time in the Junior Trophy and they fell behind to a very sloppy goal in the first minute. However with Heath's recently improved form to give them confidence, they were level again within two minutes, when Heath's player of the match, Mel Bramley, hit a superb half volley into the bottom corner. Woking were showing some excellent passing moves at speed and Heath were forced to defend resolutely for long periods. Unfortunately Heath were hit by two goals from distance right on half time and went in 3-1 down.
In the second half Heath started to come more into the game and began creating chances particularly up front where Fran Pritlove was playing probably her best game of the season. Heath introduced three substitutions midway through the half including playing keeper Claire Imray as an outfield player for probably the 1st time in her 7th season with the Club , and with the fresh legs they began to get on top. Despite tremendous pressure on the Woking goal the score remained the same until the final whistle. All three games against the champions elect this season have been close and Heath can feel a sense of achievement against probably the best side in the Division.
Heath travel to Whitehawk on Sunday for their penultimate league game.
