Haywards Heath Town 0 Meadow Sports 1 - 27th Jan 2008
Heath were keen to impress after their game fell to the bad weather last week, and could have taken an early lead with Jo Ashworth having a good opportunity to score but shooting straight at the keeper. However Meadow Sports looked the more lively with Heath being strangely lethargic As the half wore on Heath were finding it more difficult to create chances with both sides often falling foul of the offside trap and the half ended goalless, Sports going closest when they hit the post whilst for Heath Caz Walters headed wide.
In the second half Heath raised their game a little but were still somewhat subdued and whilst Mica Saunders had an early chance to score they were unable to get their passing game together. It appeared that the more they tried the worse the situation got and they were then hit with a goal on the break early in the half which was well taken by the Sports striker, the ball just grazing the post on its way to the net . Heath's central defenders Debbie Johnson and Captain Jules Hawthorne played well as did Kim Donno and player of the match Caz Walters. Every team has a bad day , and this was Heaths , this will be a game that Heath will want to put behind them and they are determined that their performance will greatly improve away to Horley Reserves this Sunday.
