SOUTH EAST COUNTIES WOMENS FOOTBALL LEAGUE - LEAGUE CUP 2nd Rnd - Jan 29th 2006

HEATH REACH QUARTER FINALS
Haywards Heath Town 2 ( Jo “Totti” D'Ambra, Mel Bramley) Anchorians 0

With the Hanbury pitch declared unplayable for the weekend Heath switched to Hurstpierpoint College and on a rather uneven pitch with a fierce easterly wind blowing Heath continued their good form with a convincing win and a clean sheet for the second week running in this South East Counties League Cup 2nd Round match .Heath started very slowly and were lucky not to concede in the first few frantic minutes. They settled however and ended the half on top despite the loss of full back Sarah Woods with an injury.

In the second half and with the wind behind them Heath started to exert their superiority and began to make chances. From one of these Jo "Totti" D'Ambra celebrated being in the starting lineup for the 1sts for the first time by shooting into the far corner to open the scoring; her first goal for the Club. Heath pushed relentlessly forward and scored their second midway through the half when Mel Bramley's perseverance was rewarded as she forced the ball home.
This was a sound performance from all the team but particularly from Emma Skilton , another player in the starting lineup for the 1sts for the 1st time, having appeared just once before for a very brief appearance, and from Player of the Match Mel Bramley,

With the Heaths 1sts including no less than 3 teenagers normally to be found in the 3rd team, with Hayley Plummer making her 1st Team debut, the future looks bright for the Club
