Heath keep ahead of Whitehawk

Whitehawk Reserves 0 Haywards Heath Town 0 - 29th April 2007

Heath arrived at Whitehawk with a strong squad determined to get something from the game in their push to finish the season in fourth place. Both teams started the game with a high tempo and the game soon flowed from end to end as both defences were tested. In a frantic first half, chances fell to player of the match, Rachel Virgo and Mica Saunders, but the game reached half time with no score.

In the second half the game continued in the same vein with the wind and the hard pitch causing some problems to the Heath defence. Within ten minutes Heath had to make all three of their substitutions as George Thomas, Mel Broome and Fran Pritlove had to leave the pitch with injuries. Heath were indebted to Celia Huggett in the Heath goal for a strong performance and every player in the Heath squad worked tirelessly for each other and were rewarded with a well deserved point.
The players on both sides were applauded off the pitch in a game that had everything except goals. Heath are at home next Sunday for their final game against Abbey Rangers.
