South East Counties Womens Football League - Div 1[W] - 5th March 2006

Bognor Regis 4 Haywards Heath 2nds 0
Heaths 2nds played 100% record Bognor Regis and were looking forward to their first match in a few weeks. Bognor started well, with one of their strikers walking through Heaths midfield with the ball from kick off , and despite the efforts of defender Julie Hawthorne scored within 10 seconds. Not the best start !!. Two more quick goals followed to put Heath 3-0 down within ten minutes, with Heaths problems compounded by striker Keveena Mosen suffering a recurrence of a recent pulled muscle . Suddenly Heath woke up and held their own. The defence of Hawthorne, Gemma Paull, Rebecca Smallman, Debbie Johnson and with Claire Imray in goal worked tirelessly with the support of central midfielders Kelly Lambert (Managers Player of the Match) and Louise Creasey (Player of the Match). Some good chances were created by Heaths attacking force with Mica Saunders putting in some good crosses for strikers Natalie Trend, Yoli Rietmann and winger Fran Pritlove to attack, with having 2 efforts scrambled off the line by Bognors defence. Heath went down a further goal by a superb shot from outside the penalty area, that flew into the top left hand corner. A good fight against a very young, fit team full of centre of excellence players.
