Felpham 5 Haywards Heath Town 3rds 1 [Susanna Wickens]
Haywards Heath 3rds gave a much improved performance away to Felpham and the final score of 5-1 was not a fair reflection of the game. With Jade Bubb & Hayley Plummer making their debut for the thirds the overall performance was far improved from last week. It was crowned by a fine goal by Susanne Wickens [Heaths "Player of the Match"] whose pace out ran the defence to slot past the keeper.
But once again the 3rds curse of injuries struck again with both Jade and Katie Hitchings having to be replaced in the second half, both with knee injuries. Emma Skilton then being forced in between the sticks and pulled of a fine double save in the second half.
Much will be gained from this performance and the overall standard of play was much higher than last week. The learning curve is long but the side are improving every week and it can be only a matter of time before they record their first win.
