Worthing 5 Haywards Heath Town 3rds 0 - 11th Dec 2005

For the first 25 mins Heath 3rds matched Worthing, but were then hit by two freekicks on the edge of the penalty area within the space of 5 minutes, each being well taken and resulting in goals. Although Natasha Kaye and Emma Skilton had chances for Heath they were a further goal down by halftime, a Worthing shot rebounding from the post into the path of a Worthing player. After halftime Charlotte Wickens replaced new signing Sherry Goodchild who had shown she will be a definite asset to the Club once she regains full match fitness.
Heath conceded an early 2nd half goal before holding Worthing for most of the half, finally conceding a 5th just before the end due to some poor marking. It was unfortunate for Heath that Natasha Sole, their regular keeper, sustained an injury at a cricket trial the previous day, thus requiring defender Kelly Lambert to go in goal. Although Lambert did well, being Heaths “Player of the match” her presence was missed as an outfield player. Christina Cater continues to improve as she had one of the best games to date.
