Haywards Heath Town 3rds 1 [Emma Skilton ] Worthing 4 - 13th Nov 2005
In a match which saw founder member Juley Hickman make her appearance for the Club for the 28th consecutive season
Heath found that Worthing Minors had improved considerably since the start of the season, and with the slope against them , were on the defensive for a good part of the half, although coming more into the game as the half progressed.
Heaths keeper Natasha Sole was kept busy and showed what a good prospect for the future she is, with a lot of natural keeping ability , whilst at the other end Emma Skilton saw her freekick from the edge of the area go just over, and then shoot just wide. Two goals in the last 5 minutes of the half were mote than Worthing deserved with the 2nd being a breakaway from one goal to the other.
With the slope in Heaths favour Charlotte Wickens was unfortunate to see her shot hit the bar whilst Heaths captain Debbie Johnson had to make a great tackle to deny Worthing . Heath continued to attack and after a couple of chances Skilton made a great solo run down the left, leaving Worthings keeper powerless to prevent a superb goal.
Unfortunately a defensive error enabled Worthing to regain their two goal advantage within a minute, and go further ahead when a speculative long shot saw the greasy ball elude keeper Sole. Whilst Heath can take many positives from this game with the skills steadily improving they must remember the two “A”’s ANTICIPATE and be more AGGRESSIVE
For Heath Nicki Cook , who has improved significantly since last season, Hayley Miller and Emma Skilton had noteworthy good games .
