Haywards Heath Town 3rds 1 [Hayley Plummer] Crawley Down 1 - 25th Sept 2005
Heath continued with their improving form to record their 1st point of the season against a battling Crawley Down side.
After soaking up early pressure Heath got more into the game with Hayley Plummer nearly lobbing the keeper who just managed to catch the ball on the line, and Natasha Kaye and Eve Todhunter both going close. With 10 mins of the half remaining, following a goalmouth scramble, Plummer succeeded with another lob to put Heath ahead.
In the second half, with the wind and slope in Crawleys favour, Heaths defence was resolute and it took a penalty kick for Crawley Down to get back on level terms. Emma Skilton, who normally is an outfield player, showed once again what a talented keeper she is as she was chosen by Crawley as Heaths “Player of the Match”
